Atty Garfinkel-Berry, MBA:

Atty is invested in the students and in ensuring each student voice is heard. Through creating infrastructure, direct student design methodologies, and leadership, Atty has led a visible growth in Hillel of Northern Nevada.
Atty is a strategic planner and a Jewish Communal Services Worker with a background in advocacy, leadership, community support, and Jewish education.
With a MBA in Nonprofit Management, Atty is committed to the nonprofit sector’s impact.
While serving on the City of Reno’s Human Right’s Commission, and the Nevada Area Council on Jewish Scouting.
Atty is actively building the world she wishes to leave the next generation.

John. N. Louie, PhD: President BOD
Professor John Louie is faculty at the University of Nevada and is the current President/Chairman of the Board of Directors for Hillel of Northern Nevada. Having previously served as the Faculty advisor for many years, John began his term as President in June of 2019.
John and his family have lived in the Reno area for many years. John is the former president of Temple Sinai Reno, and is everyone’s friend.

Aaron Hill, DMA: Faculty Adviser
Professor Aaron Hill is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Oboe and Classical Saxophone at the University of Nevada, Reno and principal oboe of the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra.
Aaron serves the Hillel of Northern Nevada as the faculty adviser to the student board at UNR as well as his department’s representative to the UNR Academic Senate.
Aaron is always working to improve the world and our community.
When he is not teaching, guiding college students, or spending time with his wife and son, Aaron can often be found helping people register to vote or engaging in other forms of civic and community service.
